I will not lose another person I love. I will not let history repeat itself.

Vincent waited lifetimes to find me, but in an instant our future together was shattered. He was betrayed by someone we both called a friend, and I lost him. Now our enemy is determined to rule over France’s immortals, and willing to wage a war to get what they want.

It shouldn’t be possible, none of it should be, but this is my reality. I know Vincent is somewhere out there, I know he’s not completely gone, and I will do anything to save him.

After what we’ve already fought to achieve, a life without Vincent is unimaginable. He once swore to avoid dying—to go against his nature and forsake sacrificing himself for others—so that we could be together. How can I not risk everything to bring my love back to me?

The only thing I liked was that Amy brought a unqiue twist by switching the settings. Instead of the lush, oh-so romantic Paris, the characters went to New York, searching for the help of Mr.Gold who can help bring Vincent back to the life. Other than that, I did not like the ending to this book.

What I Didn't Enjoy:

Vincent and Kate's relationship. Downright, awful and eye-rolling. This is by far, the second cheesiest couple I've read. First one being, Caleb and Maggie from Significance. I just think that Vincent was portaryed as this perfect, so polite guy that there was no depth to him. Literally, I couldn't spot a single flaw on him.

Jules. I'm sorry, but where the heck is Jules' happy ending?! JULES WAS BARELY EVEN PRESENT THROUGHOUT THE WHOLE BOOK. HE LEFT AND THEN CAME BACK AND THEN LEFT AGAIN. I couldn't explain to you how disappointed I was to read this. The main reason why I wanted this so badly was because of Jules. From the moment I finished Die for Her, I knew that Jules made it into my book boyfriends list. He was hilarious and charming. I mean, he had more personality than Vincent. So please, tell me why, Kate did not fall for him?!

You know, the novella screwed me over. It really, really did. If I haven't read it, maybe I would've enjoyed If I Should Die, but even with Jules not getting a wrapped up conclusion, this book still had it's downfalls, like for instant when Kate just got the news that she was the Champion. I knew from the beginning that it was Kate the whole time. Before I read the book, I was hoping that the author wasn't going to go that route. But, nope. I just received the ending that I was dreading.

1/5 STARS
